Why Test?
Benefits of Testing
A COMMON MISCONCEPTION is to assume that if an individual "looks healthy," they are. Too many of us assume that if someone is not experiencing "symptoms," they are fine and cannot transmit an STD to someone else. The TRUTH IS "looking healthy" does NOT mean a person is free of HIV or type of STD. The presence of, or lack of symptoms does NOT determine a person's HIV or STD status.
If you:
- Have never tested before
- Have put-off being tested
- Have questioned a partner's HIV or STD status
- Are beginning a new relationship
- Are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant
- Simply need peace of mind
Then you should be testing:
- For your health
- For your current or future partner's health
- To determine your status from a past possible exposure to HIV or STD's
- To decrease the possibility of transmission of HIV or STD's
- To relieve anxiety
Testing is Easy
The testing process is simple and our counselors are available to help you through each step.
Should I be Tested?
Sometimes it is difficult for a person to determine whether or not they need to test for HIV or STD's. Not having enough information or misinformation can lead to unwarranted anxiety. To assist you in assessing any possible risk or exposure to HIV or STD's, please take a moment to answer a few questions. Our brief survey is confidential and has been designed to help you determine if testing may be needed.
